Petzl® ASAP® LOCK Mobile Fall Arrester
The Petzl® ASAP® LOCK is a drop-resistant mobile fall arrester designed for rope access and work-at-height fall-protection systems. It follows the user automatically along the safety rope during normal movement and locks onto the rope during a fall or uncontrolled descent, while the integrated LOCK function allows the device to be immobilized to help reduce potential fall distance.
Why It's Used
A mobile fall arrester needs to protect the worker without constantly interfering with movement along the safety rope. The ASAP® LOCK travels freely with the user during normal ascent and descent, eliminating the need to manually reposition the device as work progresses.
If a fall or uncontrolled descent exceeds two meters per second, the device automatically blocks on the rope. The integrated LOCK function can also immobilize the ASAP® LOCK when needed to reduce potential fall distance or prevent the rope from being blown upward in high-wind conditions.

Compatibility
The ASAP® LOCK must be used with the appropriate Petzl energy absorber and compatible rope/system components for the intended application.
For single-person use up to 140 kg (308 lb.), use the Petzl ASAP’SORBER 20 or ASAP’SORBER 40.

For two-person rescue scenarios up to 250 kg (551 lb.), the ASAP® LOCK must be used with the Petzl ASAP’SORBER AXESS.
Certification depends on the complete system configuration, including the energy absorber, rope, and connectors. Always verify the approved Petzl configuration for the applicable standard before use.
