Petzl® ASTRO® International Version

The Petzl® ASTRO® International Version is a full-body harness designed specifically for professional rope access, rope progression, and rope ascent. Its integrated CROLL L rope clamp, gated ventral attachment point, 3D foam padding, and multiple equipment-management features provide technicians with an efficient and comfortable platform for extended work on rope.

Why It's Used

Rope access technicians need more than basic fall protection. Their harness must support rope ascent, controlled descent, work positioning, equipment organization, and extended periods of suspension while keeping critical rope-access components properly positioned.

The ASTRO® integrates these functions into a single professional harness. Its gated ventral attachment point allows descenders, progression equipment, positioning lanyards, or a work seat to be efficiently integrated into the system, while the built-in CROLL L rope clamp improves efficiency during rope ascent.

Compatibility

The ASTRO® International Version uses different attachment points for specific functions:

  • Ventral attachment: Descender, progression or positioning lanyard in single mode, or compatible work seat
  • Lateral attachments: Positioning lanyard in double mode
  • Sternal attachment: Fall-arrest system
  • Dorsal attachment: Fall-arrest system
  • Rear waistbelt attachment: Restraint lanyard

The gated ventral attachment point allows compatible Petzl equipment to be efficiently integrated into the harness, including rope-progression equipment and PODIUM or LITEPOD work seats.

The harness also supports compatible CARITOOL tool holders, INTERFAST accessories, TOOLBAG pouches, fall-arrest lanyards, and ASAP’SORBER energy absorbers.
