Rope Rider® Controlled Descent Device
The Tech Safety Lines Rope Rider® is a manually operated controlled descent device designed for suspended work positioning, controlled lowering, and rescue applications. Its dual-braking design, three rope slots, and compatibility with multiple kernmantle rope diameters give trained technicians precise control over positioning and descent while working at height.
Why It's Used
Technicians performing suspended work need to maintain a controlled working position while also having a reliable way to descend when repositioning or completing the job.
The Rope Rider® provides adjustable rope friction for controlled movement on the descent line. Three rope slots allow the technician to fine-tune descent characteristics for the application, while the dual-braking design is engineered to engage if the user releases the device or reacts during an emergency.
In addition to routine suspended work positioning, trained personnel can use the Rope Rider® for emergency self-evacuation or casualty lowering from an elevated workstation.
The Rope Rider® must be used in conjunction with a Vertical Fall Arrest System.

Compatibility
The Rope Rider® is designed for use with 9.5 mm, 11 mm, and 13 mm nylon or polyester kernmantle rope.
A separate Vertical Fall Arrest System is required when using the Rope Rider®. The Rope Rider® provides controlled descent and work positioning and should not be treated as a replacement for independent fall-arrest protection.
The Rope Rider® is also used as the controlled-descent component within the ARK® Assisted Rescue Kit for direct, remote, and pick-off rescue applications.
