Rope Rider® Controlled Descent Device

Rope Rider® Controlled Descent Device

The Rope Rider® is a manually operated controlled descent device designed for suspended work positioning and controlled descent applications. It allows users to maintain precise positioning while working at height and provides a reliable method of descent when needed.

The Rope Rider® is well-suited for high-rise window washing, suspended scaffold (swing stage) operations, bosun chair work, and rope access facade maintenance, where smooth, controlled movement and positioning are critical. It enables workers to safely maneuver along building exteriors while maintaining full control of their descent.

In addition to work positioning, the Rope Rider® can be used by trained personnel in emergency situations for self-evacuation or to lower a casualty from an elevated workstation, including the rescue of suspended workers on scaffolds or rope systems.

*The Rope Rider® must be used in conjunction with a Vertical Fall Arrest System.

This personal lowering device offers unique design features:

  • Duel braking system – the brake engages if the user lets go or panics
  • Made out of Machined Aircraft Grade Aluminum for tenacity and endurance
  • Spring loaded to control rope movement
  • Three rope slots to fine tune descent rate
  • Solid connecting eye to link the harness, seat board and other apparatus

The Rope Rider® is designed for everyday use with 9.5 mm, 11 mm and 13 mm nylon or polyester kernmantle.
