Petzl® ASCENSION Handled Rope Clamp
The Petzl® ASCENSION is a handled rope clamp designed for efficient rope ascent in professional rope access, rescue, and work-at-height applications. Its ergonomic overmolded grip, self-cleaning toothed cam, and dedicated connection points for a lanyard and footloop give technicians a secure and efficient way to progress upward on compatible 8–13 mm rope.
Why It's Used
Ascending a fixed rope efficiently requires a device that can grip the rope under load while still allowing upward progression.
The ASCENSION allows technicians to move the rope clamp upward during ascent and load it as part of an appropriate rope-progression system. Its handled design provides a comfortable gripping surface for pulling, while dedicated attachment holes allow compatible lanyards and footloops to be incorporated into the ascent system.
The toothed cam includes a self-cleaning slot designed to maintain performance in demanding conditions, including dirty or frozen ropes.

Compatibility
The Petzl® ASCENSION is designed for use with compatible 8–13 mm rope, subject to the requirements of the applicable certification and complete rope system.
The wide lower attachment hole is designed to accommodate carabiners used with compatible progression equipment such as the Petzl® PROGRESS lanyard and FOOTAPE or FOOTCORD footloops.
ASCENSION is available in dedicated left-handed and right-handed versions. Select the version appropriate for the technician's rope-ascent configuration and technique.
The ASCENSION is a rope-progression device. It should be incorporated into a complete rope-access, fall-protection, or rescue system according to Petzl instructions, applicable standards, and technician training.
