4:1 Pulley System

The Tech Safety Lines 4:1 Pulley System is a compact mechanical-advantage system designed for assisted rescue and casualty movement at height. It allows a trained rescuer to lift and support a casualty's weight, transfer the load to a compatible rescue system, and prepare the casualty for controlled lowering.

Why It's Used

Lifting or transferring the weight of an incapacitated worker can be difficult during an at-height rescue, particularly when access and working space are limited. This 4:1 system provides mechanical advantage while automatically capturing hauling progress, helping trained rescuers raise and manage the load without manually holding every increment of progress.

A lever-operated release allows the rescuer to extend or release the pulley system when required.

Compatibility

The 4:1 Pulley System is designed for integration with the SRK-15® Micro Rescue Kit. During an assisted rescue, the pulley system can be used to lift the casualty and transfer their weight to the SRK-15® for controlled lowering.

With this 4:1 Pulley System, there is no more back up rope, which means faster learning and more time for scenarios in training, and more efficient rescues in the field. The progress of hauling is automatically captured, and there is no grab that could inadvertently be left disengaged. To release or extend the pulley system, the rescuer simply operates a lever.
